The first part is actually too simple. It is generally that which everyone looking for a job does. A word of caution though-people do tend skip Singapore job listings, these are the ones that they consider too trivial or not worth their time. People even skip certain jobs that don’t have a good salary as per them.

I would however advise that you should go one salary level beneath yours and apply for these jobs as well. The reason is simple- you would get a morale boost. Believe me it is certainly worth it. When you know that you do have more than a job secured even though they are slightly less paying ones, you would certainly be able to perform better in your interviews at engineering jobs

Now we would deal with the ever important part- researching for a particular job. The first thing that we have to develop in here is developing a mindset that really makes the cut. The mindset is simple- treat the job that you are applying for as the only job that you are applying for and follow it up with actions that account for it.

For example what would you do for the interview if this would be the only interview that you would be giving? Would you be on time or would you be late? What would your resume be like? Personalized for the job or not? While many may actually think that I am over simplifying things, I can only ask you to try it out and see for yourself.
